University of London Diploma and BA Degree in Philosophy
with support from Pathways
The Diploma and BA (Hons) Degree in Philosophy from London University is an exciting development for Pathways, arising from talks held with London University at the beginning of 2003.
In 2011 at a meeting with the Course Director for the International Programme Professor Samuel Guttenplan, it was agreed that we would continue to support students under the New Regulations whereby BA Degree students take 12 rather than 10 modules, including a newly introduced 7500 word dissertation, Diploma students take 8 modules, and Certificate students take 4 modules.
Tutorial support for the University of London International Programme in Philosophy, is offered alongside our own Pathways to Philosophy programs and the Associate and Fellowship awards from the International Society for Philosophers (ISFP).
The University of London BA Degree in Philosophy via the International Programme is administered by Birkbeck College London. Academic staff from Birkbeck College plan the syllabuses, develop and write study materials especially for external students, set the examination papers and mark scripts.
As a graduate of Birkbeck College, I can vouch for their high standards of academic excellence. The University of London is among the top rated Universities in the UK.
The University of London BA Philosophy Degree is the same for external students on the International Programme as for internal students attending one of the Colleges of London University. The only difference is that London do not offer any teaching to external students. The Pathways tutorial support program is designed to plug that gap.
Assessment for the BA Degree, Diploma and Certificate is by written examination. There are local examination centres all over the world: details can be found in the Prospectus.
