PATHWAYS APPLICATION AND FEES

Study tracks

There are three Pathways study tracks:

• Pathways to Philosophy Programs A–F


• Associate and Fellowship Awards


• University of London Diploma and BA Philosophy Degree

The University of London study track also covers the Certificate in Philosophy and the Introduction to Philosophy short course.

Depending on your choice of study track/ program, a suitable mentor will be selected for you. If you wish to have Geoffrey Klempner as your mentor, please email klempner@fastmail.net to check availability before you make your payment.

All Pathways students are invited to join the International Society for Philosophers. There is an option for open membership if you would like be contacted by other ISFP members. ISFP membership entitles you to observe/ participate in the Pathways online conference.

On the application form you can also request a free subscription to the electronic journals Philosophy Pathways and Philosophy for Business.

The Pathways CD-ROM worth 12.50 GBP together with the 350,000 word e-text Philosophical Connections worth 20 GBP are free to all new Pathways students.

Course fees

The application process and fee structure for the three Pathways study tracks is as follows:

— The 240 GB Pounds single-payment fee (approximately 275 Euros or 365 US Dollars) covers tuition for,

      • One Pathways program (choose from programs A–F)
      • OR one year of the Associate or Fellowship
      • OR one University of London Certificate/ Diploma/ BA module.

— The 400 GB Pounds double-payment fee (approximately 460 Euros or 605 US Dollars) covers tuition for,

      • Two Pathways programs (choose from programs A–F)
      • OR one Pathway PLUS one year of the Associate or Fellowship
      • OR one year of the Associate PLUS one year of the Fellowship
      • OR two University of London Certificate/ Diploma/ BA modules.

— The 600 GB Pounds triple-payment fee (approximately 690 Euros or 910 US Dollars) covers tuition for,

      • Three Pathways programs (choose from programs A–F)
      • OR one Pathway PLUS one year Associate PLUS one year Fellowship
      • OR two Pathways PLUS one year of the Associate or Fellowship
      • OR three University of London Certificate/ Diploma/ BA modules.

There is no time limit for completing a Pathways program. Subject to deadlines set by the University of London, tuition for each Diploma/ BA module covers up to two years study.

All Pathways courses and study tracks are run under the supervision of the International Society for Philosophers and covered by the Pathways guarantee.

Philosophy tuition via Skype

As an alternative to the three Pathways study tracks you can apply for personal philosophy tuition with Geoffrey Klempner via Skype.

As places are limited, please email klempner@fastmail.net before you submit your application.

This option is suitable students pursuing open-ended study, as well as those enrolled with college or university courses in philosophy who need extra help and support. You can use the sessions to read out your essays and receive comments, or ask questions, or debate a particular philosophical topic that interests you.

The fees are 60 GB Pounds (approximately 70 Euros or 90 US Dollars) per month. You can book for up to four months of Skype tuition at one time.

This entitles you to as many sessions with tutor Dr Klempner as you need during the time you have paid for, up to a reasonable limit. The time limit for each session is flexible, depending on your needs and the time available.

Payments are processed either from your PayPal account or from your credit/ debit card. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit or debit card.

You can also pay by direct electronic transfer. Payments usually take no more than 2 or 3 days to process. Please contact info@philosophypathways.com for national/ international account details. If you prefer to pay in your own currency, all you need to do is calculate the amount based on the current exchange rate.
